the church was locked, but it was possible to see these details of the east wall of the C13 south transept, with large petalled dog-tooth around the niche and a corner piscina. presumably the plastic sheeting is against bats, but it makes the church seem disused.

s.e. view of the grand c14 church, which is generally locked. as the church has taken public money, it opens on fridays for visitors, thus fulfilling the letter but hardly the spirit of the law. mean and unethical, it should at least open at weekends.
