This end was never finished, then got bombed , then the church was gutted by a fire. As this west end is on much higher ground than the east, and the two cannot be seen at the same time they read separately, though the junction has been handled rather well. There's an internal bridge in a large atrium which takes you into the church proper, though I didn't get it. It's not normally my sort of thing , and I'd not expected it as it's not in the current BofE, but I though it stood up well to the spectacular size of the church, and added to the building's interest without the apologeticness of so many modern additions to churches. Must have cost a fortune though, as the finish was perfect even after 14 years.
