old town hall, bury st edmunds, suffolk

built as a market hall and theatre by robert adam between 1774-80, it sits like a jewel box in the middle of the market place. the inside has been gutted, and now shamefully houses a ladbrokes bookmaker, like a bloated parasite on a pretty face.
