lincoln cathedral
the central tower fell in c.1239 and was rebuilt c.1240, then the upper stage added in 1307-11. a faily low vault was added later in the c14, probably to prevent the chilling updraughts that a central tower can cause. this hides most of the early c14 from the inside.
