built in 1849-50 by godwin, the interior gained the side arches to the transepts in 1870-2 when peacock made some tractarian changes, removing the stone pulpit which had had pride of place under the central tower . it was romilly craze - a c20 dowsing - who cleared the original victorian fittings and painted the church white in the 1950s. the church was locked, I only got in by being mistaken for an electricity reader in my site agent yellow coat .
