The Bag of Nails

02 Jul 2026 3 2 14
Dumbarton Road, Partick, Glasgow The name comes from the old joinery trade. Historically, the site was associated with a joiner’s yard, and the phrase “bag of nails” was a joking reference to the clutter, tools, and hardware lying around. Or “Bag of Nails” sounds like “Bacchanals”, a term for rowdy drinking parties. Or “You’ve got an arse like a bag of nails.” is a popular Scottish term of endearment.
