Dows Bar (formerly Samuel Dow’s) on Dundas Street has a long, layered history stretching back to the early Victorian period, with licensed premises on the site since 1841 and a succession of names reflecting Glasgow’s changing railway‑side culture.
The modern bar inherits the legacy of the Samuel Dow whisky and pub empire, which operated the Dundas Street premises for much of the 20th century.

The Billy Connolly mural on Dixon Street is one of Glasgow’s three official 75th‑birthday tribute murals unveiled in 2017, and the one on Dixon Street is Rogue One’s large‑scale street‑art interpretation of Jack Vettriano’s portrait Dr Connolly, I Presume?. It remains one of the most photographed pieces on the Glasgow Mural Trail.
