Oban (An t-Òban in Scottish Gaelic meaning The Little Bay) is a resort town within the Argyll and Bute council area of Scotland. Despite its small size, it is the largest town between Helensburgh and Fort William. During the tourist season, the town can play host to up to 25,000 people. Oban occupies a setting in the Firth of Lorn. The bay is a near perfect horseshoe, protected by the island of Kerrera; and beyond Kerrera, the Isle of Mull. To the north is the long low island of Lismore and the mountains of Morvern and Ardgour. Quoted from Wikipedia

We are all looking back at this time Joe, and this is a beautiful shot. I especially like the splash of red and the misty atmosphere. Have a good weekend. Cheers, Rosa.

I remember well this trip to Oban, Rosa. The weather was lovely until I arrived. It began to rain and began to clear up, when it was time to go home. I hope you have a lovely weekend too. Cheers, Joe

I think that's the best photograph of Oban I've seen. I had a great long weekend many years ago there with walking friends. We went across to Mull and Iona and to Kerrera and Lismore. It's been my setting off place to many of the islands since.

I am always saying I should visit more islands, Jean. I will get round to it one day. Cheers, Joe

This series is a very good record of what it was like on the days before restricted movement and social distancing came into place. You have infinite patience, Joe. Luckily we live in a small village and can preserve social distancing while getting out for long walks, so I don't have to search the archives. ;-)

Thanks very much, Amelia. I hope the lockdown is lifted before I exhaust my archive. Cheers, Joe
