Dumbarton Rock and the River Leven at Sunrise

Dumbarton Rock and the River Leven at Sunrise
The boatyard shown here was where four of the RMS Titanic's lifeboats were built: the Englehardt collapsible lifeboats A, B, C and D. Lifeboat C was the one that rescued Joseph Bruce Ismay, the President of the White Star Line.

A stunning sunrise Joe and I love the cloud formations on the right with their pretty pink hues!
Thank you for the interesting information. The gentle light reflections make it a very atmospheric shot. Cheers, Rosa.

An outstanding image, Joe! The sunrise lightening is great and the cloud reflection makes it perfect..a view of beauty and silence , thank you for sharing it and the information about this boatyard. I thought The Titanic was built in Belfast, but maybe only its lifeboats were built here.

Thanks for your very kind comment, Adele. Only four of the RMS Titanic's lifebotas were built here in Dumbarton. The RMS Titanic was indeed built in Belfast. Cheers, Joe

It's worth getting up early to enjoy such an environmental moment. Being able to photograph it is the apotheosis. Best wishes, Anton.

It always pays to be up and out early. This is really something. Joe. I love that diagonal of clouds and the reflections to the right of the rock.

This is a scene I photographed so many times, Amelia. Being this far north, you don't have to be up too early to photograph a winter sunrise. Thanks for your very kind comment. Cheers, Joe

Very interesting composition with the interesting perspective and the competing diagonal of the clouds. And those are some clouds.

Fantastic view. I like the pink clouds at the right. You took this photo in January, so probably it was cold - but it brings such a warm over to the spectator.
