Tribute to Innocence
It’s rather hard to know what will cause a great number of responses to an image posted on the Flickr stream. Those of us who are constantly striving to achieve these responses are also constantly working at discovering different ways of making that happen. In my first year on Flickr, I presented only images that I had been doing up to that time. Work that could be called “documentary photography”. Always within fine art photography.
Where is this going? I am writing about strategies and methods of developing an audience. A market/clientele for my fine art photographs.
I am done feeling guilt for natural desires,
Feelings that are pure and yet, confused
As we are reminded of youth…
The married woman one floor below and across the hall
Her balcony faced my back window.
I loved looking down at her from my room
As she was hanging her laundry on the line
Leaning forward and reaching over the edge
The two top buttons of her house dress undone
Never wearing a brazier (brassiere).
Glancing up, she could see me.
I would pull back not wanting to be seen staring.
She would pretend not to see me looking at her.
If only writing would come to me as easily as photography. Every time I put up a photograph on Flickr without a text, I feel as though I am short changing my viewers.
My wife, Mary tells me I should just write. Whatever comes to my mind for the moment. Just write. She thinks I speak eloquently, so why then not just write as I speak. Oh well. Maybe she is right.
Can you handle viewing the large version of this image?
Great photography requires dedication, time and effort.
But above all there are costs involved as well.
Equipment, props and model fees, not to mention time,
are all "out-of-pocket" expenses for the artist.
If you enjoy my photographic art, you might like to help to support it.
