Jambi and The Puppet Band

Jambi and The Puppet Band
Jambi (John Paragon)
A blue-faced (later green) genie who lived in a jeweled box. Usually appeared once per show to grant Pee-wee a wish, often with unexpected results. Sometimes, he appeared more than once per show or not at all. His catchphrases included "Wish? Did somebody say 'Wish'?", and the magic words "Mecca lecca hi, mecca hiney ho" (which grew more complicated as the show progressed).

The Puppet Band
Dirty Dog (Wayne White)
Cool Cat (Ric Heitzman)
Chicky Baby (Alison Mork)
Three animal puppets who comprise a 1950s-style jazz combo, who live in a corridor of the Playhouse designed to resemble an alley. They normally spoke in rhyme, parodying Beat generation poetry.

These puppets were featured on a U.S. children's show -- one with something of an adult following -- during the late '80s. Here are two links which may help explain the who and what.

I was thinking of the plush one, about 12 inches tall. I see that it goes for anywhere from $50 to $100 online. I really appreciate the kind offer, but it may be that it is too late for me. :)

Are you a fan of Gary Panter?
Great artist.
He was like head set designer on Pee Wee's Playhouse back then.

Yes I am! Big fan. Used to have a 45 he recorded called Tornader to the Tater (B Side Italian Sun-glass Movie.) Darn if I can find it.
