interesting, are they counting from 1 to 10?

If you hover (hold the cursor on) the text "Popularity score" under the scored image, you get an explanantion. So, it is not actually any scale, but tells how many visits your picture will very likely get per day. But for some reason they don't just give the exact number. Instead you need to calulate it using the following formula:

2^score

For example, if the picture gets score 3.5, then the number of visits per day would be 2^3.5 = 11.3

So, this image of mine should receive at least a little over ten visits within a day. But there are of course many other things to take into account. So, the results of that study are based on a certain dataset of certain amount of images, a certain set of people a certain network of relationships etc. In other words the score don't really tell anything about how popularity here at Ipernity. Instead it only tells how popular the image would very likely be if it has among the photos used in the original research data.

I'm stressed out because of my work. Photography is passion. Although sometimes maybe also escapism for me. And popularity. .. That is only a topic I thought could interest some folks. But I will get back to that later, after I hopefully got some sleep.
