Bittersweet salmiak...

Bittersweet salmiak...
...is a sweet and salty licorice candy, extremely popular in Finland. I think we have much greater variety of this sort of candies in Finland than anywhere else. We simply can't live without it =D So, sweet and salty actually goes together surprisingly well, I think....

Very nice composition. I've not tried Finnish salmiak, but I liked Swedish salmiak when I was a kid. I don't remember seeing te little boxes called Salmiak for ages. Lots of other salt liquorice about though.

The Swedish salmiak tastes more or less the same in general. There are just more variety in Finland, I think... Or more like there are more different salmiak candies sold in FInland perhaps. Many of them are actually made somewhere else (companies are not Finnish).

Great shot and idea. Salted caramel is very popular over here at present so I can understand this.

As Paul said, "You learn something new every day", I like the way the photo goes together but I shall pass on the licorice, never acquired a taste for that.

Calling all them as licorice candies does not actually make justice to them =) Some of them are soft candies and some are hard, and there is even salmiak powder sold.

oh sweet and salty do go well together, I have never seen or heard of this Sami, perhaps you need to buy us all a box and send it about? (I don't like black licorice though..)

Funny, I was watching a BBC programme recently called "Sweets Made Simple" and they were on about salted liquorice. As for the shot, I love the composition and the vivid colours! :)
