SSC from above - manmade roof, but nature takes over

SSC from above - manmade roof, but nature takes over
I had the idea right away last sunday, but waited until today. Then - surprise surprise - it had been snowing during the night. Fortunately in the afternoon, the snow had melted away (leftovers to be seen at top of the picture).
I did not know that there could be so many different kinds of moss in one place (without even asking if they may use our roof to grow).

This is a part of our roof in Regensburg. I had to do some climbing to take this shot ;-)

, Nouchetdu38, Lebojo, Wierd Folkersma and 23 other people have particularly liked this photo

We decided to let nature do its work (we only rent the place and our landlord does not really care)

Such great colours and textures and just a nice looking roof overall. I'm glad you were able to do this without any mishaps. :)

Thanks, Karen. No mishaps yet. It wasn´t actually that hard to do.

A whole building seen from above! Clever =D

Thanks, Sami. Actually it is only a small part of a much bigger roof.

Yes, but the point is that it is still a scene from above. Very clever, approach on the topic, which I hope I had thought. One could even had taken a macro shot of the roof and say it is a roof (or even a house) seen from above =D

Ruebenkraut club has replied to Heidiho club

yes a very pretty moss garden. Well taken and hope your climb was a safe one.
we have moss on the tiles but then the blackbird comes along and picks at it. this means we have lumps of moss on the ground. it clearly makes a good breakfast drive through for the bird. . the the blackbird throws away the 'packaging' - just like a fast food outlet !!!

Ruebenkraut club has replied to Jan
I did not know that blackbirds are so much into moss to find "valuables". There are not so many blackbirds in the old town quarter of Regenburg because of peregrines and hawks which populate the old medieval towers.
