Die Skulptur des knienden Juden, der mit einem Schwamm das Straßenpflaster reinigen muß, ist ein Detail des 1988 installierten Mahnmals gegen Krieg und Faschismus des österreichischen Bildhauers Alfred Hrdlicka am Albertinaplatz im Zentrum Wiens gegenüber der Albertina. Er erinnert mich in kaum zu überbietender Art eindrucksvoll an die abstoßende Ideologie und Praxis des Nazitums. Welche Schuld hatte er auf sich geladen ? War er vielleicht einfach nur ungeimpft ? The sculpture of the kneeling Jew, who has to clean the pavement with a sponge, is a detail of the in 1988 installed memorial against war and fascism by the Austrian sculptor Alfred Hrdlicka on Albertinaplatz in the City of Vienna, opposite the Albertina. It reminds me impressively, in a way that can hardly be surpassed, of the repulsive ideology and practice of Nazism. What guilt had he brought upon himself ? Was he perhaps simply unvaccinated ?

Kein Wunder, daß das Zebra lacht, wenn es sich auf solch kuriose Art in den Dom von Wiener Neustadt transferieren konnte. :-D No wonder that the zebra is laughing when it was able to transfer itself to Wiener Neustadt's cathedral in such a curious way. :-D

Revovierung schön und gut, aber was ist das ? Eine aufgemalte Sonnenuhr ? Und wenn ja, wie funktioniert sie ? Von wo und wie schräg müsste denn da die Sonne her scheinen ? Diese Fassadenmalerei an einem entsprechend alten Haus in der Lederergasse von Wiener Neustadt ist mir bis jetzt ein Rätsel. Hast Du eine Idee ? Renovation all well and good, but what is it ? A painted sundial ? And if so, how does it work ? From where and at what angle should the sun be shining? This painting on the façade of an old house in the lane Lederergasse in Wiener Neustadt is still a riddle to me. Do you have an idea ?

Bis 16. Oktober läuft in Baden bei Wien auf verschiedenen Plätzen noch die diesjährige Fotoausstellung "Festival La Gacilly Baden" ( festival-lagacilly-baden.photo/de ). Dort werden dieses Jahr vor allem Fotos von Süd- und Latein-Amerika von verschiedenen Fotografen gezeigt. Das Foto dieser lateinamerikanischen Schönheitskönigin mit ihrem einzigartigen Diadem stammt aus der Foto-Reihe "Pop Latino" des Fotografen Marcos López. Gesehen an einer Hauswand am Brusattiplatz. This year's photo exhibition "Festival La Gacilly Baden" ( festival-lagacilly-baden.photo/en ) is running until 16 October at various locations in Baden near Vienna. This year, mainly photos of South and Latin America by various photographers are shown there. The photo of this Latin American beauty queen with her unique tiara comes from the photo series "Pop Latino" by the photographer Marcos López. Seen on a house wall at the plaza Brusattiplatz.

Dieses Foto ("50.000 Autos", hier ein Ausschnitt) stammt aus der Foto-Reihe "Kollektive" des brasilianischen Fotografen Cássio Vasconcellos. Diese Menge entspricht gerade einmal einem Prozent der fünf Millionen Fahrzeuge, die auf den Straßen von São Paolo unterwegs sind. Das kann nicht gesund sein. Gesehen bei der Römertherme.
