I think it was making the most of it, earlier there were more than a dozen birds splashing around on there; Thanks for looking in.

Why very few sparrows in London? When I was a student at London University in the late 70s they were everywhere. Then somewhere around 1983, they vanished.

The reduction in numbers made the news not too long ago. We have a relatively small flock making home around our garden, I estimate at about fifty or so between the hedges and trees, but counting them is not that easy, they used to roost in a tree down the road, but that was cut back severely a while back, so now their residence is with us!
