Connaught Place, Delhi, India c1945

Connaught Place, Delhi, India c1945
It was developed as a showpiece of Lutyens' Delhi featuring a
Central Business District.
Named after the Duke of Connaught, the construction work was
started in 1929 and completed in 1933.
It was renamed as the Rajiv Chowk after the late Indian
Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

I stayed in a miserable guest house just off it in 1992. I thought Connaught was fabulous. It kind of reminded me of Bath. Great India shots you have here.

Thanks for the visit and comments Phil; the India shots I owe to my father, I only scanned and reworked them, I was only about a year old when he was there.
