This looks quite an impressive church.

It is a good church to visit. Many interesting features inside, and a cafe! I had a quiet trip there this year, as I had a cold and lost my voice!! :))

Hi Rosa, this seems an unusual church with these two very different materials for tower/spire and main body. Maybe it is just that some parts have been cleaned perhaps? I imagine that there is some history here.

Hello Herb, lots of Shrewsbury's churches are a mixture of stone and brick, and they all have interesting histories. My favourite though is St Chad's which is probably the newest. They had a lovely Christmas tree festival in there...photos to follow :-))

I always find it slightly annoying that the spire is crooked on St.Mary's. ;-)
