Fountain in the middle of the sculpture garden. Played around with some shutter speeds, got some rather un-waterlike results.

One of the many bas reliefs around the fountain that made me think of "Mountains of Madness".

Depending on which direction you walk around the fountain, this is either the babies getting revenge on the horse for punting one of their associates, or the harassment that prompted the horse to punt the baby in the first place.

In pictures, the obelisk looked disturbingly like the images of mass graves from WWII concentration camps. In person it was not like that at all (for one thing the figures look alive and healthy, not dead), nor was it pornographic.

One of the figures flanking the steps up to the obelisk. A theme throughout the Vigeland sculptures is the stages of life - many of the sculptures around the obelisk in particular expressed this theme by depicting the wisdom and weathering of old age and showing the old teaching the young. This one was easily the best figure of that group.

Why would you take a perfectly nice fin de siecle building and graft a modern strip mall onto the front of it?

I'm not sure whether it would have been better or worse had this been a store selling skin-care products.
Questionable Landscape

Theodore Kittelsen's "The Water Spirit", adjacent to the Edvard Munch exhibit.
At first I thought it was one of those "enhanced kitsch" paintings. It turns out that Kittlesen's work is replete with Lovecraftian imagery of this nature.
Whose Empty Grandstanding? Our Empty Grandstanding…

#notforsale, in which thousands of people in Oslo lined up with placards to show their support for/opposition to some social issue or other they'd just learned of while out for lunch and promptly forgot about by the time dinner came around.
I later read that this was the biggest public virtue-signaling event in Oslo since #kony2012.

Multipurpose hiking dishes. Not only do they serve as drinking cups and soup bowls, but they double as emergency groin protectors.

The only picture I took of downtown Oslo with a real camera. Compared to the Norwegian landscape, Oslo (like Trondheim and Bergen) was not all that photographically interesting. Plus I was by this point pretty much done with carrying 11lbs of camera equipment with me everywhere.
