2009 Pegmatite Peaks Hike

While nowhere near being a 14er, it was a long way up just to treeline nonetheless...with another 300 vertical feet to go from here.

At treeline was a bizarre stunted forest of gnarled and twisted pines. The dead ones were quite interesting.

The main trail led over a saddle on the ridge, and not up to the summit proper. Considering the dark clouds and cold wind moving in, we decided it was not a good idea to bag these particular peaks.
