I took a lot of photos of this particular area, since it was picturesque to start with and had really interesting lighting that kept changing with the movement of the clouds.
The path back to the car, surrounded by bacterial soil crusts, sage, and stunted shrubs.
One very nice thing about this hike was, even at about seven miles round trip, we were out in around four hours (including a long stop for lunch) thanks to the path being largely level. The only up and down was over the saddle between the two canyons.
I probably took fifty shots of just this feature, and this is one of the few that turned out reasonably well. Had the same problem last year, but didn't get anything good.
