Road Trip: Day 3

The dead Land Rover. Naturally, it couldn't have died closer to civilization, it had to give up the ghost (or have the fuel pump go out, actually) about ten minutes into the most desolate expanse of land I have ever seen in my life.

Luckily, we were able to flag down some friendly locals, who went out of their way to help us by calling the rental agency and chewing them out in Icelandic. About two hours later, the agency came to tow us back to Kirkubaerklaustur, and the next day gave us a different truck.
