Paddles

Packing the åg with a heavy wooden paddle. The 80% of the grass closest to the roof structure could be packed down just by walking on it, but that obviously wasn't safe for the grass on the outer surface. Whacking the grass repeatedly, and powerfully, with the heavy paddles also helped to orient the strands and level out any high spots.

This part of the job was a lot more athletic than it looks.
