Most of these images were taken with a Minolta Maxxum SLR, either the S7000 or the 700si, which replaced my S7000 which was stolen in Rome while on a trip to Italy in 1994. Most were produced by scanning the 35mm negative with my Epson Perfection V700 Photo Scanner.

London Rooftop

Taken from a window in a dormitory at the Polytechnic Institute of the University of Westminster on Marylebone Road. The view is of the roof of the Portman Mansions a block of Victorian mansion flats on Porter at Chilton streets in the City of Westminster, London, England. The mansions were built built between 1890 and 1900 by Henry Saxon Snell, an architect. The crouching figure at the far left is supposed to be Quasimodo, the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Chapter House Entryway - Westminster Abbey

The inner 13th Century doorway of the Chapter House represents the Annunciation. It symbolizes Mary's acceptance of the incarnation. The angels on the trefoils are witness to the event, on the left, the Archangel Gabriel and on the right, Mary. These two life size figures were carved c. 1253 and are among the most important survivals of medieval sculpture. The carving of Christ in his Majesty in the center was inserted by Sir Gilbert Scott in the 19th Century. Originally the roundel would have been empty. London, England. Scanned 35mm negative.
