Folder: Public artworks - art in public open spaces
There are fifteen murals in this festival - I have still to track down the majority. The ones that I have found are in the town centre.
The poster walls are in an area of the town centre under redevelopment for a new health services hub.
In the art exhibitions folder there is an album showing the artworks displayed at the Marine Workshops and the adjacent 'The Sidings' open space.

The posters are on hoardings around a supermarket building that is being redeveloped as a health hub. The posters have been created by local artists or are, in a few cases, reproductions of old official notices. The mural artworks appear on buildings in or near to the town centre. It has been a rather sad neglected area. Most of the main shops are now in retail parks across the river. I did a rather more extensive photo foray there, but the photos seem to have not registered on the SD card or been deleted in some way. Fortunately there will be more chances to repeat the exercise in the future.

A very small further selection from a display around The Sidings riverside café. Taken over the outer fence before the cafe opened for business.
There would have been a lot more from the Look Again Newhaven June arts project, but 90 per cent didn't appear on the memory card. I have no idea what happened. It has not happened before. I need to check the screen every few shots from now on. It could be me at fault. If it is the equipment, I hope that it is the card not the camera that is playing up. I shall return to Newhaven some time in the next week or so.
The Sidings is so named because it is in part of Newhaven port, where there were extensive railway sidings, supporting the import and export traffic through the port.
