My visit here was primarily to photograph the paddle steamer Waverley and I was on a tight schedule to get back to the ferry at Ryde, by public transport. That is why there was not time to wait for people to clear my viewfinder! If I had waited the hundreds on board the Waverley would have disembarked and massively increased the population in the streets!
Town Hall inscription, The Square, Yarmouth, Isle…
A panoramic crop of a 35mm format image. It captures various aspects of Yarmouth - steamer trips to, from and around the Isle of Wight started in the Victorian era - the lifeboat station is one of the closest to the notorious Needles rocks at the western end of the Island - the marina is now a major centre for water sports and cruising in and around the Solent.
