This is the second time I have seen the Google Maps scanning car in Seaford. The previous time was in 2012. I must check if I, with my face blurred out, has appeared in the Street View version of their maps. I have blurred the Google driver's face, although I expect his Mum would still recognize him.
The car caught my eye as it passed me climbing the hill at speed.
Does the term Avant Garde still have a current meaning or is it now out-of-date, or whatever the term for that is now?
I am puzzled by this little car in Lewes. Most of it seems to be in flawless condition, but two sections of the tubular frame seem to be quite badly rusted and the wing mirror on that side seems older. I have never come across this make of car before. Normally I use the UK registration number to identify makes that aren't obvious, but only part of the plate is visible. Then I noticed the Ligier branding on the cill which helped in my online search for its make and model.
The driver of this car not only has a quirky sense of humour regarding the decoration of his car, but has a slightly eccentric dress sense. He was wearing a smart black suit, white shirt and dark tie with a very wide sombrero! He was last seen heading into the Post Office, not a mariachi band rehearsal.
For those not familiar with the brand Mr Whippy is a well known UK vendor of soft icecream, mostly from icecream vans. Which does not explain why this guy has decorated his tiny electric buggy with signs for the brand!
