This image has been presented for use as a greetings card. Some street furniture, TV aerials and phone wires have been cloned out, but apart from that the overall picture is accurate. It may seem odd to feature an old junk shop, with mattresses leant against a doorway, but the array of different materials and textures is a wonderful contrast to the very neat presentation of the more up-market interior design shop across High Street.
26.9.2012 the junk shop is no more!
2013 this building is now part of the 'interior' shop opposite - facing one in this view - with a matching, tasteful decor. Shame the character was lost, but that's progress!
2021 The main building on the right is now a house. The smaller building with the awnings is now a podiatrist's practice. The grey interiors shop facing this yard is now white and unoccupied.

My images of shop windows - in Seaford or anywhere else - are my photos of interesting subjects. They haven't been commissioned and generally the shop-keepers are not aware that I have taken them.
A new charity shop that sells recycled and refurbished furniture and household goods, rather than books and clothes makes a nice change. I believe people working in the organisation's own workshops carry out the necessary repairs and 'upcycling'.
January 2024 - This shop has now moved. I will try to remember to get a snap of it in its new location.
This shop front is being carefully restored. The 'barleysugar twist' uprights in the large window have been matched to the one in the smaller window. They replace an ugly uPVC window. I must go and look at the notices in the small window and see if they give more information about the owners' plans.
I will be interested to see how this restoration turns out. I shall of course photograph the result.

This is the antiques side - the jewellery is displayed in the window around the corner, in High Street. Please note the 'Tattoos removed' sign is an antique not an indication of the current business in the shop!
