Magnus Musson is a semi-retired pilot boat, there being two more modern boats at the Newhaven Port Authority's disposal. She has been retained as a general work boat. The William Mary appeared to still have some power and, from a distant view, seemed to berth herself once in harbour.

I think that this young man may have been connected with the Lifeboat or one of its crew. If so, I can forgive him for rushing up and down the beach getting in the other photographers' line of sight! If not, maybe he can appreciate that he could have been a bit more considerate!
