Thameslink 700104 & Southern 171727 at Brighton on 28.7.2016
The 700 class trains are the newest dual-voltage electric multiple-unit trains to run on the Thameslink services from Brighton, through central London, to Bedford and other locations north of the capital. The diesel 171 class, two-coach trains, run from Brighton to Ashford International, via Eastbourne and Hastings. Much of the line beyond Hastings is un-electrified single track, hence the need for diesel trains.

Thanks, Pete. This was a grabbed opportunity, as it was the first 700 I had seen close-up and it was just about to pull out.
