Sea vs Man at Cuckmere Haven - 28.3.2016

This stretch of coast will no longer be protected by artificially reinforced shingle banks. The four former coastguard cottages, which are to the right of this scene, are therefore at risk, as the bank in the foreground will be eroded away. The residents have been trying to build their own extension to the existing concrete seawall that can be seen in other photos in this album. The metal plates, seen here, are an initial part of their scheme.
