Goats on the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve - 10.8.2015

It is 465 hectares of low lying land, behind the sea-wall, to the west of the River Rother as it reaches the coast, at Rye harbour. I was only there on a fleeting visit to friends at Winchelsea Beach, but had spent breaks and holidays at their caravan, with our children and grandchildren in the past. I have never got further than the end of the Winchelsea Beach cottages. There are some fairly large stretches of open water' with a range of wildfowl, but I didn't have time to get near enough to photograph any.
