Obviously I wasn't expecting the traffic to be moving at +10mph on the South Circular! Hence the blurry front end. If you don't know it, the South Circular in London is just a route through ordinary streets, varying from two to four lanes width, with traffic lights at frequent intervals, especially where the radial roads in and out of London cross it. So it is notorious for slow moving traffic. The North Circular, by contrast, has significant stretches of dual carriage way.
