The White Pass and Yukon Route is a Canadian and U.S. Class II 3 ft narrow gauge railroad linking the port of Skagway, Alaska, with Whitehorse, the capital of Yukon. An isolated system, it has no direct connection to any other railroad. Wikipedia

The church was formed in 1901 by the Bishop Bompas, who had been living at Fortymile, downriver from Dawson, Yukon prior to the Klondike Gold Rush. He decided to head south on missionary work and came to the town of Carcross, which was originally known as Caribou Crossing at the time. According to Mrs. Bompas' reports, the only inhabitants of the town were a couple of Canadian Mounties, the owner of the local hotel, the stationmaster for the White Pass Railroad, and two or three native people. The Captain William Moore Suspension Bridge on the Klondike Highway near Skagway, Alaska. Interestingly, this bridge is only anchored on one side in the hopes that it won’t collapse in the event of an earthquake.
