Wesseling is an industrial German city on the Rhine bordering Cologne. Home to several chemical companies including Evonik, and Basell, and a Royal Dutch Shell oil refinery.

Impressive picture with all this smoke!

Interesting to know: Wesseling was incorporated into Cologne at the beginning of 1975. However, this decision was challenged in court and in December 1975, the Constitutional Court of North Rhine-Westphalia ruled that the underlying law was unconstitutional.
