For reasons best known by the Bees we had very few Brown or Honey Bees until late September. Fortunately there were many alternative pollenators to do their work.

Salient point.. Bees alone pollinate 40% of all humans food sources. If we lose the bees.. we are dead.

Thanks for the visit, Pam. The wildflower you asked about is Brodiaea coronaria, Harvest Brodiaea, a wildflower that from the Pacific Northwest. You commented on it before I even had a chance to put a name to the picture.

A great duo. I love when they are all dusted with pollen. Autumn gales have arrived here and the bees and other insects have gone. I really miss them.

Oh these are Honey Bees and very very docile. You would have to screw one up in your hand to get a sting. The Bumble Bees are very docile too. They will stroke the lens !
