Eastern Phoebe's Collage
The Eastern Phoebe who nested above the Little House door.... well she has 4 chicks ! She has gradually got used to the door opening when I go in and out there and the storm door there closing with a bang... and I saw the chickies properly today !
Not good quality pics as I dont want to disturb them more... but I am certain of 3 chicks.. and almost certain there is a 4th !
Must have frightened the heck out of every feather when I had to drag that Copperhead snake out the Bluebird box not 4 feet away last Saturday !

Red was the favourite colour of the previous owners here. Tends to be alot of it around. The Little House (sort of potting shed build over the underground storm shelter) has red doors and gables...thats where this nest is .. over the door !

Pam J club has replied to William Sutherland clubThe snake on Saturday was a Copperhead... but we have the Pygmy Rattlers in the woodlands. They tend to be polite snakes who dont want to to stike up(no pun intended !!) a relationship with humans.
The Copperheads however are mean and spiteful and will charge you for no reason at all !
That said...I take every precaution I can...!!!
As an English woman in exile in OK.... snakes and spiders that bite viciously are NOT making me "happy" !!!!
Even I draw the line at " Live and let live " with them !
Pam J club has replied to Esther clubI would be happy never to see another snake here !
I have just posted a photo of the Chickadee chicks taken today !
