Wow, who rattled your cage this morning? “Venerate” is a strange choice of word. There is no suggestion in this picture that these gently funny objects are worshipped or in any way revered. They have been placed here for fun, for the enjoyment (however fleeting) that they give both the passers-by and the occupants of the house or their children or grandchildren. There are many more important insidious influences to be feared than “tawdry crap”.
