Koodjieko

A pied butcherbird in my garden.
The local Noongar name is koodjieko. They sing beautifully, often in antiphonal harmony with another individual. Also known as the Break o'Day bird because it is one of the prominent sounds of the Dawn Chorus. I am woken most days by one which sings whilst perched on the telephone wires outside my bedroom.
