Please also take a little time to think about the fight against injustice and prejudice wherever they may be (and no matter how entrenched they may appear) and resolve to speak out against them whenever possible.

I have the impression that today in the world injustice and prejudice became a very common fact, while empathy, solidarity and respect are unfortunately exceptions... But still: HFF Old Owl.

I believe you are correct, Christa. Although that fact sometimes leads us to despair and to give in, we must keep working to put "solidarity and respect" at the forefront of everything we say, think and do. You never know, it may catch on!

In fact, John, it does catch on. Human rights have been increasing steadily for centuries. Even Switzerland now allows women to vote, for example, slavery has been much reduced, civil rights laws have been passed, and so on. Of course we still have a long way to go. But we are accomplished at expanding rights. HFF and keep up the good fight.

Thanks, George. I think it wasn't just a shame, but a disgrace that the Voice referendum wasn't passed. Who knew there were quite so many racists in our country? (I know that many of those voting against would deny their opposition was racially motivated, but by their actions shall we know them.)
