Looks like WAPA and the Flandreau municipal are almost done getting ready to bury the backup line. Glad they haven't touched those big GE pellet arresters... yet.
As of 2025, there has been no change other than renewing the crossarm on the dead-end structure... not sure if the Flandreau muni still intends for this to be a backup source, given WAPA's desire to get out of the distribution business (based on other substations they've shelled out in the last few years).

BTW, thank you so much for the comment you left for me regarding STINKY STINKY STINKY shells and your experience with ODIFEROUS PIG PENS! :D Yeah, I BET you had to shake your winter coat...that reek is just horrendous. Thick stench like that really does get into clothes because it's actual molecules of the nasty substance in an aerosol. So if there's too much of it in the air, there's plenty to stick to and settle into anything we're wearing. Disgusting, isn't it? I never understood why a smelly place can "follow" you until I learned about the reality of the molecules...EWWWW!! :D
David Dahle has replied to Janet Brien clubMy power line photography grew out of collecting insulators once used on power and communications lines, particularly after having found an electric distribution pole that still had glass insulators on it. But yes, otherwise, if the subject isn't power lines, I do try and keep them out of the picture too.
