London 2013
Folder: Great Britain
October 2013. Highlights include Kensington Gardens, a walk around Belgravia, a long ramble from Tower Hamlets Cemetery to the Emirates Air Tram, across the Thames in a dangle car and up the river by river bus, another long ramble in Richmond, revisiting the East End, a day trip to Bletchley Park, a guided walk on radical history in Islington, and a classic car boot sale.

This was the only interesting thing I saw in Kensington Palace. It's a series of glass panels, depicting the Crystal Palace in Hyde Park, constructed for the Great Exhibition of 1851.
Royal Occupants

Each occupant of Kensington Palace has their own pillow on this long bench. How special! I wonder if the staff use them for pillow fights after the royals have turned in for the night.
Prince George's Private Closet

I was hoping to catch a glimpse of Royal Baby Boy George at Kensington Palace, but he and Kate must have been busy at mommy and baby yoga. I did see his closet, which seemed to be a ways from William and Kate's apartments in Kensington Palace. I think it's unfair to make the nanny walk all this way through the palace just to get a clean onesie.

Parish boundary marker in Kensington Gardens. This (and the marker in the next photo) marks the boundary between the Borough of Paddington (a.k.a. Paddington Parish) and St Margaret Westminster Parish. This pair was mentioned by J.M. Barrie in Peter Pan, but he took literary license and turned them into headstones of dead infants who were buried in Kensington Gardens. londonist.com/2013/09/the-secret-stones-of-kensington-gardens.php
