Peepalope
A female of the rare Peepalope species (left). A cousin to the Jackalope (right), the Peepalope is usually sighted only in the springtime. It is just as shy as its more common cousin, but far less wily and fierce.
Pair o' Peepalopes
I kept very quiet and avoided sudden movements as I crept up on the mating pair. Though shy, they were curious about the camera and let me take this portrait before they scampered back behind the cacti.
