London April 2008
Folder: Great Britain
My visit for a week in April 2008. The weather was so-so -- some days were so cold, windy and damp, and some were so gorgeous. Pix include Islington, the City, King's X/St Pancras, Waterloo, Marylebone and Hampstead. Photos of my daytrip to Whitstable and Reculver are in a separate album.

Rosslyn Hill or Hampstead High Street (not sure where one ends and the other begins).
Perrin's Lane NW3
Church Row NW3

On my walk around Hampstead. The other St John's is down this street -- it has a great churchyard, but I've been there before and I skipped it this time because I wanted to finish the walk before sunset.
Holly Walk NW3
St Mary's Catholic Church
Mount Vernon NW3 (once)
Mount Vernon NW3 (twice)
7 Mount Vernon
1 Mount Vernon Cottages NW3
Hampstead Grove NW3
Admiral's House

I was tired and skipped walking past the Admiral's House. Spooner said I should have done, because it's quite interesting looking.
St George's Flag

Flagpole on the highest natural point in London, next to Jack Straw's Castle. I don't know if this is the flag that's always flying, or if this was something special for St George's Day. I walked all the way up here, thinking there would be splendid views, but there were none.
View over the rooftops of Hampstead

From Holly Mount, past the Holly Bush Pub and just beyond the steps down to Heath Street: BT Tower, London Eye, and some other buildings I can't identify. This is the last point on the Hampstead walk from www.londonwalks.org . Somehow I managed to upload my pix from the walk in reverse order -- it starts with the photo of the shop window in Flask Walk and ends here.
