People's Museum, Phoenix Road, Somers Town. Dickens lived in Somers Town with his family in 1827-1829 when he was a teenager. He depicted the abject poverty of the area, the building of the railroads, and the huge dustpiles in Dombey & Son and Our Mutual Friend.
