Wallis Building 2
Penfold Street, Lisson Grove. The Palmer Tyre Company had been located in the London docks, which sustain heavy bomb damage during the blitz. The government requisitioned the art deco Wallis Building (by Wallis, Glibert & Partners, built in 1938), along with the building behind in Hatton Street, and relocated the Palmer Tyre Company here to make tyres and parts for Spitfire planes during World War II.
