The Rastatt Castle Church was built between 1720 and 1723 in the rooms of the Rastatt Residence Palace on behalf of Sibylla Augusta of Baden-Baden, in the immediate vicinity of her private chambers.

From the outside, the church building by Johann Michael Ludwig Rohrer fits perfectly into the castle complex.
