My biker family - photo taken 80 years ago by my Grandpa who was a biker and a hobbyist photographer. The second bike from the front was Polish Sokół (meaning Falcon) - coming from a brand of motorcycles manufactured in Poland before World War II for both civilian and military use. My Grandpa's bike was civilian, still had to be given away to the Polish Army in the summer 1939, when they mobilized people and gear for World War II. ----- Kodak 6x9

... gone bad. Or maybe not? ;) ----- WZFO Start photo taken some time in 1967 ----- So I was twelve and I was in Cracow for the first time with my camera and without my father. It was a school trip and I was assigned to be a school class photographer. I was preparing to take the most common shot of the Church of St. Adalbert (located to the side of the Main Market Square in Old Town) and waiting for somebody to cross the street (as my father had taught me). A lady appeared. I was ready to take the shot when a man on a scooter roared by and got me startled. So I instinctively moved my camera and pressed the shutter.

Dreaming of a White Christmas... ----- WZFO Start ----- No snow this year. Not where I live. It is 9°C ( 50°F) and it is raining.

It is the most recognizable tree in Poland. A relict pine on the top of Sokolica in Pieniny Mountains. It is 500 years old but it is very small and grows so slowly that the growth is barely noticeable even in 50 years span. That is how I will remember it. In 2018 it was badly damaged by a helicopter used to rescue some unfortunate tourist who had collapsed there and injured their head. The pine lost its upper branch - actually the upper half of the tree. They say that it may not survive the damage. The tree was not just broken but actually twisted by a powerful whirlwind caused by the machine hovering over the peak. ----- WZFO Start Euktar lens (triplet anastigmat) This shot was taken 50 years earlier, almost to the day. The negative is in poor state, but it is one of my favorite oldies.
