Les niveaux du Somerset sont au niveau de la mer, nous avons beaucoup de canaux de drainage et de pompes bien gérés et bien que les routes puissent être inondées, les dommages matériels sont rares.

Le Great Bow Bridge, qui porte aujourd'hui l'A378, est un pont à trois arches, construit selon les termes du Parrett Navigation Act de 1836. Achevé en 1841 pour un coût de 3 749 £, il a remplacé le pont médiéval précédent, avec ses neuf minuscules arches, toutes trop petites pour permettre la navigation. Un pont à cet endroit a été mentionné pour la première fois en 1220. Le pont médiéval se composait d'un total de 31 arches, dont neuf traversaient la rivière, et 19 des arches d'origine ont été localisées par un radar à pénétration de sol en 1987, enterrées sous la route qui va de Great Bow Bridge à Little Bow Bridge.

We’re used to having floods here, roads flood fairly frequently but property rarely. Lots of drainage and well maintained pumps and we are troubled less than those on higher who suffer flash floods.

You can dress your dog, so he keeps its white color underneath, just wash the paws and legs, hehehe
