In the wet bench...
Lacock Abbey and village, in the hands of the National Trust, is a picturesque and unspoilt estate once owned by the Talbot Family. During the 19th century Lacock House, built over the remains of the old 13th century monastery, was the residence of William Henry Fox Talbot. In 1835 the photography pioneer made what may be the earliest surviving photographic camera negative, an image of one of the windows. The museum there in his name holds a permanent exhibition of his life and times and works by other noted photographers.
In more recent times, Lacock village was the childhood home of siblings Zoe and Joe Sugg both well known You Tube channellers. Joe was a finalist in the 2018 Strictly Come Dancing series.
Hope your Bench Monday has not been as wet as my visit was ... Have a great week!

Also, I had forgotten about the village's strong connection with Henry Fox Talbot. I don't recall a museum 40 years ago but I could be wrong. I think I would have wanted to visit it if I had known about it!
Lastly, I haven't checked it out but Sugg isn't all that common a surname but it was my great grandfather's name and it's possible that many (of the few) Suggs are somehow related to each other!
And on top of all that, it's a super photo, Maggie!

I watched documentary about a year ago which featured William Henry Fox Talbot, and other early pioneers of photography. The museum sounds like an interesting place to have a look at.
